An overview: The Carmelita Centre proposals
Homes for Lambeth would like to invite you to learn about, and give your feedback on, proposals for the site containing the Carmelita Community Centre.

The proposals for the site containing the Carmelita Centre include 29 much-needed new homes and the provision of a new community centre. 100% of the new homes will be affordable, of which 70% will be council level rent and 30% shared ownership. This will be a car free scheme, with the exception of 3 blue badge car parking spaces and 2 visitor spaces for the Carmelita Centre. We are providing 55 cycle parking spaces.
The new community centre will consist of three main rooms, providing space for: community workspace; meetings; and other community uses. This will be provided on the ground floor with the new homes set on the seven floors above.
Alongside the new homes and a purpose-built community centre, the scheme proposes a new community garden for the Carmelita Centre, improved landscaping around the centre and a communal garden for new and existing residents of the estate.
In order to fund these proposals, we are also proposing to develop a site on Orsett Street for private sale that will form part of the same planning application.
